On Your Bike

On Your Bike delivers training and work placements refurbishing donated bicycles to vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals in Taunton, giving them the skills and confidence to access pathways to employment. The bikes are then sold back into the local community, generating sustainable income for the charity. On Your Bike’s bike sales also reduce local traffic congestion, improve public health and reduce landfill waste. Of those engaged by On Your Bike, 26% go on to unlock paid employment within a year and 12% access further training.

The Fore’s Support:

Support from The Fore enabled On Your Bike to expand to a second site in Bridgewater, doubling the charity’s size and impact while dramatically accelerating its progress toward financial self-sufficiency.

The Result:

On Your Bike successfully launched its Bridgewater site, selling over 100 bikes and 330 bike services to the local community and providing 13 work placements for vulnerable people. As a result of the new site, the organisation’s income has almost doubled in the last year, which the organisation hopes will enable them to offer 40 work placements in Bridgewater per year in future.
