Short-Term Project with Greenwood Music CIC
Backed by The Fore
Organisation Description
Greenwood Music are a social enterprise with a mission to boost and improve the wellbeing of people & planet. We have both a social and an environmental purpose in achieving our mission: the latter being the restoration of Caradon Wood, a 40-acre Cornish temperate rainforest; the former being the provision to people from all walks of life the opportunity to have Wellbeing in Nature experiences within the woods. Through grant funding and, through the reinvestment of any profits generated, we ensure the experiences are available to all, with a focus on disadvantaged individuals and communities. Our Wellbeing in Nature experiences are a green social prescription to the natural health service and have a huge impact in peoples' sense of wellbeing and connection. Our income generation is partly through our Just Stay eco-glamping experience: bell tents set up on our three-acre riverside meadow within the woods for the sole use of family and friends groups of up to 20 people. In the past year, we have worked with over 250 people including projects with refugee & asylum seekers, youth groups, intergenerational projects (i.e. excluded young people working with older people with dementia on nature-based activities), men's only and women's only wellbeing programmes and veterans.
What are they looking for?
We believe that our eco-glamping experience is special and unique. We offer the chance to stay in a 40-acre temperate rainforest restoration project with sole-use of a three acre riverside meadow with bell tents set up and most of the kit you would need for an adventurous experience. Not only that, but we also believe that the fact that we reinvest 100% of any profits generated into our socio-environmental impact is compelling, especially with the climate crisis and peoples’ commitments to making positive impacts through buying through B corp businesses etc.
Those who stay with us love the experience and cannot believe that we are not totally booked out. Our reviews are high.
That said, we are struggling to market the product to find, get and keep customers. We have had support with social media and have good images and some excellent video resources. I am keen to explore other ways to attract adventurous customers looking for something different, be it through a quirky social media campaign utilising various platforms or through gaining interest through media articles, old school targeted advertising etc (although we don’t have much of a budget).
Fundamentally, we are looking for a fresh perspective from a marketing and communications professional and advice as to how best to increase customers. It would, of course, include a stay in the woods to get a real feel for this wild, eco-glamp experience!
Time-wise, it can be a brief intervention and advice session or it could be advice and guidance over an agreed period of time: we are flexible and would be very appreciative of any support at this stage.
