Description
Greater Manchester Blood Bikes is keeping vital NHS services moving by providing free emergency deliveries to hospitals and health charities across the North West.
Callouts have more than doubled in the last three years, with their deliveries saving the NHS an estimated £1.2m. However, GMBB is entirely volunteer-run. An absence of statutory funding, along with rising fuel, maintenance and vehicle costs, means there is increasing pressure on fundraising capacity.
GMBB will use our funding to recruit a freelance Campaigns Manager and help keep their vital delivery fleet on the road. This will raise GMBB’s regional profile and build the capacity to drive community fundraising and corporate partnerships for a more sustainable future.
