Bee Pedal Ready CIC are changing the narrative for women in cycling, creating a more diverse cycling community.
Women from minority ethnic backgrounds are severely underrepresented in the cycling industry, with it being 91% white and male. Bee Pedal Ready was born from the founder’s own experience of this. Since launching, the organisation has helped over 2,100 people, offering bike maintenance skills and building communities of confident women cyclists. However, the organisation’s growth has been hindered by a lack of capacity, with the founder focused on the day-to-day.
Bee Pedal Ready will use The Fore’s support to hire a Project Coordinator and a Social Media Manager. This will free the founder to develop a long-term business plan and help grow income through partnerships, improving the organisation’s long term sustainability.
