Food for Purpose CIC is a community interest company working at the intersection of faith, culture and health. We design and deliver culturally relevant nutrition education and health programmes that combine evidence-based public health with lived experience and faith-informed principles. Our work supports Black communities to address diet-related conditions, strengthen family wellbeing and build sustainable health legacies with dignity and excellence. Recent projects include tier 2 weight management for Black communities living with obesity, culturally tailored type 2 diabetes workshops, Immunisation uptake in faith communities. Partnerships include : NHS England, South East London Integrated Care Board, Guys and St. Thomas’s Hospital.

What are they looking for?

We are looking for a chair to support our team of directors. Chair of the Board Food for Purpose CIC Food for Purpose CIC works at the intersection of faith, culture and health, supporting Black churches and communities to build healthier futures through culturally relevant nutrition education and practical programmes. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are seeking a thoughtful, experienced Chair to guide and strengthen our Board. This role is about stewardship, clarity and direction.

We are looking for someone who:
• Has previous board or senior leadership experience
• Understands good governance and strategic oversight
• Can support the CEO with both encouragement and constructive challenge
• Values cultural insight and community voice
• Is aligned with our faith-informed foundation

You will help ensure that vision is matched with structure, and passion is supported by accountability.
