Tregovenek Request

Organisation Description

Tregovenek (Place of Hope) is an evolving community farm on the edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. Our vision is for a small, abundant farm and gathering space that has the health and wellbeing of the local community, the land and its wildlife at the heart. A place where we will connect, learn and work together to discover what it is we each have to offer to help build a better, fairer world for generations to come.

We own and manage an 8 acre property, with residential bungalow, community garden, farm buildings and (currently) pasture land.

We are in the early years of our journey and are exploring new ways of working that allow for fun and connection as well as productivity. We are supported by strong values and principles and believe that how we work together today shapes the future we want to create for tomorrow.

What are they looking for?

This is an opportunity to utilise your expertise to help find creative solutions for financial stability and longevity, ensuring this wonderful project benefits the wider community, and the land, for generations to come. We aim for Tregovenek to be truly community-owned and plan to launch a community share offer in 2025.

If you can support the Board by providing sound strategic financial overview and scrutiny and have experience of interpreting and presenting accounts and management finances either within a social enterprise, charity or business setting, we would love to hear from you! No tedious Board meetings! We use sociocracy, a decentralised way of organising, to ensure we stay true to our vision, have professional integrity and comply with legal and financial requirements.

You’ll be joining an ever-growing group of good folk, with a wide range of backgrounds, who want to make a difference and have fun whilst they do it! The CBS Board generally meets online every 4-6 weeks and otherwise communicates by email. Whilst being situated near Tregovenek is preferred, it is not essential.
