**Practical Support:** We offer essential items like care packages with clothing, toiletries, toys, and educational materials for children, as well as resources for adults pursuing education.
**Emotional Support:** Our Dream Academy hosts 10-week workshops in safehouses and the community, focusing on skill development, empowerment, and mental well-being.
**Raising Awareness:** We inform the public about modern slavery through events, community talks, social media, and collaborations with other agencies.
What are they looking for?
As the Secretary to the Board of Trustees , you will play a crucial role in supporting the Trustees by managing administrative tasks, facilitating communication and ensuring the smooth operation of the charity. Coordinate and schedule Board meetings, ensuring all necessary materials are prepared and distributed in advance. Record and produce accurate minutes of Board meetings, documenting decisions, actions, and discussions. Track and manage key dates, such as deadlines for reports, renewals and filings. Maintain and update organisational documents, including policies and official records. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, keeping abreast of changes and advising the Board accordingly. Trustees are expected to attend regular virtual board meetings (c. quarterly) and participate in committee work as needed. Time commitment may vary but should be anticipated to be [estimated time, e.g., 5-10 hours per month]. Previous experience in governance, nonprofit management, finance, or related fields is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with fellow trustees and stakeholders. Ability to work as part of a team while providing administrative support.
