Portfolio: Street Storage Request

Organisation Description
Street Storage is an ambitious and innovative homelessness charity. The first of its kind
in the U.K., we provide free, accessible storage units and community spaces for people experiencing
homelessness. Founded in 2019, we have grown exponentially and have developed a strong reputation in the sector and the homelessness community. So much more than shelving, our storage service allows people to gain and maintain employment, secure permanent housing and reconnect with family, education and services. We run an advocacy programme supporting one to one wellbeing and needs and run drop in spaces to encourage individual hobbies and interests as well as foster a community of people experiencing similar challenges. We campaign in the sector for housing rights and the rights of people sleeping vulnerably and have storage units in Cheltenham and Cambridge in addition to our London HQ which stores for and supports over 500 people each year.
What are they looking for?
Street Storage is looking to “better shout about what we do”. We want to show our community and develop our brand into something that reflects the values we hold.
1. Consultancy work: around Street Storage’s current marketing and social media
2. Strategy work: recommendations/suggested improvements and implementation
3.Values understanding: to understand Street Storage’s core values and how these should underpin marketing and social media messaging. This will be done while SS:
a) Conducts a full, comprehensive values setting session involving the entire team (staff, trustees, volunteers and people using our service)
b)Engages with a PR company to build on initial consultancy and strategy work (as well as values setting work) and push our press, comms and PR to a wider audience
A visit to the London Street Storage site to better gain an idea of what we do and it’s impact as well as to meet the team behind the charity. One hour online meetings, monthly/bi-monthly with Lilian our Front Line Administrator and Marketing and Comms lead , as well as potential Fundraising Manager Simon Webb and Director Rachel Woolf. Minimum commitment of 5 hours across two months plus one site visit (1 hour max).
