Organisation Description

The Association is a membership-based CIO dedicated to the conservation of and research into Offa’s Dyke and the general public’s understanding and enjoyment of it. The ODA also sits alongside Cadw and Historic England as a member of the Offa’s Dyke Conservation project. It also operates its own conservation fund. The Association operates a free-to-enter visitor centre in Knighton, Powys, where visitors can study interpretive displays on Offa and Wat’s Dykes. The ODA will shortly appoint a professional grade Development Officer who will provide the resource, experience and contacts to help the charity to grow and develop. One such output will be to establish a volunteer warden scheme and database to monitor long term the condition of Offa’s Dyke.

What are they looking for?

The Association requires a trustee with a finance background to monitor and manage our budgets. ODA payroll is out-sourced to a firm of chartered accountants, likewise the preparation of management accounts and independent examiner role.
