Dog A.I.D. (Assistance in Disability) Request

Organisation Description

We empower physically disabled people to live an independent life by coaching them to train their own pet dog to become an accredited Assistance Dog. We work with a network of volunteer dog trainers who coach our clients in positive dog training techniques to train their dog to undertake assistive tasks. Our impact is truly life-changing: clients become more independent, experience improvements in mental wellbeing and self-esteem, have increased confidence and are often able to return to work, education or a much loved hobby with their Assistance Dog by their side.

What are they looking for?

We are looking for motivated trustees who can provide up to 5 hours a month using their skills and experience to help our ambitious, growing charity achieve its strategic goals. We are looking for trustees who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- lived experience of physical disability

- marketing/PR
- safeguarding
- fundraising
