Jesper Jensen works as an Associate in private markets at BlackRock. He was keen to take the skills and capabilities developed in the corporate sector and use them to make a positive impact on society by supporting a small charity. 

Through our skilled volunteering network, we matched Jesper with Fowler’s Syndrome UK (FSUK), a charity raising awareness of the debilitating bladder condition, Fowler’s Syndrome. 

Although FSUK already had a strong group of trustees, they recognised there were gaps and were looking to expand their board to bring in commercial, corporate and governance expertise. Jesper joined FSUK’s board as secretary and has been advising and overseeing the completion of trustee reports and supporting with general governance. Through his network, Jesper was also able to onboard one of the largest global law firms as a permanent pro bono legal advisor to the charity.
