Youth Mental Health Foundation (YMHF) give parents and carers in Devon and Cornwall the tools to support children facing mental health challenges, filling a support vacuum left by overstretched services.
Founded by parents who navigated their own daughter’s crisis, YMHF provide courses and peer support that turn primary carers into a frontline safety net. With one in six local young people facing mental health issues and waiting times for statutory support exceeding 18 months, they are struggling to keep up. Their courses have twice as many applicants as places.
With the backing of The Fore, they will build a framework to grow earned income from 29% to 70%, allowing them to scale and reach up to 500 parents each year with their early intervention model.
