Franklin Scholars

Franklin Scholars

Description

Franklin Scholars is an educational and youth leadership model of peer-to-peer mentoring. It aims to help Year 7 students at-risk of underachieving, at the crucial transition point from primary to secondary school, by assigning each of these students with a dedicated and professionally trained older student, named a Franklin Scholar, as a personal tutor. These bright and motivated Year 10 Franklin Scholars are trained to provide personalised academic support to the at-risk Year 7 students. The Fore funded the core cost to employ a member of staff to be involved with the delivery and development of the programme in its first year.
