On the Out CIC
Description
On the Out is a Manchester-based social enterprise formed by a group of ex-prisoners frustrated by the lack of support given to people on release from custody, leading to cycles of homelessness, addiction and re-offending. The organisation matches ex-offenders with mentors who used to be prisoners themselves, helping them to find accommodation, access benefits, attend probation and get back on their feet. On the Out is currently at capacity, and has started receiving referrals from prisons outside Manchester. The organisation is using funding from The Fore to develop its volunteer recruitment and training capacity, enabling the organisation to significantly expand its reach and meet demand for its services.
