MYTIME Young Carers
Description
80% of young carers report that the role impacts their mental health, and 49% of carers aged 18-25 are unemployed. Many choose not to attend University because they cannot find care provision for their dependent (or do not want to pass it to a younger sibling). MyTime supports young carers, providing opportunities, friendship, empowerment and helping them reach their personal, academic and professional potential. MyTime is using funding from The Fore to launch its ‘Schools Support Programme’, which aims to transform the support for young carers in the school environment.
