Nour Domestic Violence
Description
Nour Domestic Violence was founded by friends who, after conducting a survey of local women, realised an urgent need for cultural and faith-sensitive support for BME women who had experienced domestic violence but felt unable to access mainstream services. Nour provides free, long-term, professional counselling in a variety of languages, as well as advocacy and legal advice to survivors of abuse. Nour is using funding from The Fore to cover core costs, enabling it to develop its network of network of volunteer counsellors and tackle the recent increase in referrals.
