Brookside Theatre
Description
Brookside Theatre is Romford’s community theatre based in the Romford War
Memorial Social Club, Eastern Road.. Brookside offers a wide range of opportunities, particularly to young people. Community members are invited to be part of the show, to assist with scenery etc, act as front of house, and undertake organisational and promotion tasks. Brookside are using the grant of £14,500 from The Fore towards the costs of Hairspray scheduled to take place in April 2021. This production has been selected because the show is empowering and joyous whilst at the same time tackling issues of racism and discrimination with a strong focus on equality, making it the ideal show for Romford’s diverse community as the current Covid-19 restrictions lift
