Happy Smiles Training (HST) remove barriers faced by disabled people through disabled-led training and projects that build more open communities. Over 92% of their workforce is made up of disabled people.

Disabled people face significant barriers to inclusion – e.g. they’re twice as likely to be unemployed. HST’s training helps create long-term employment pathways and communities of support for disabled people. Their work has earned them recognition, such as winning the National Diversity Award for Community Organisation for Disability in 2024.

Demand for their training is insatiable and they have outgrown their operation structures. The scale-up grant from The Fore will allow them to meet this demand by hiring an Operations Director who will establish scalable systems, oversee daily operations, and lead their expansion into Manchester and Bolton.   

Our Scale Up funding programme supports organisations that have been previously backed by The Fore. Organisations are invited to participate based on the priorities of our funders.
