Disability Africa
Description
Disability Africa support children with disabilities through programmes that promote inclusion and increase access to health, education and family services.
Ric Law founded Disability Africa in 2011 after witnessing firsthand the stigma and severe disadvantage disabled young people experience across communities in Africa. They collaborate with local project partners, ensuring that services are relevant and attitude change is owned, delivered and sustained locally. Together, they’ve supported 680 disabled children in The Gambia, Zambia, Kenya and Sierra Leone. They have a plan to scale but they’re restricted by limited capacity.
Earlier grants from The Fore resulted in a six-fold increase in project attendees. They intend to use The Fore’s scale-up grant to employ a Director who will focus on the sustainability of the charity, primarily through demonstrating impact, developing a corporate offer and increasing partnerships across Africa.
Our Scale Up funding programme supports organisations that have been previously backed by The Fore. Organisations are invited to participate based on the priorities of our funders. Because of this, we kindly request that you don’t contact us about participating in this programme.
