Autistic Girls Network
Description
Autistic Girls Network (AGN) shines a light on the often-overlooked needs of autistic girls and women, creating a world where they are understood, valued, and supported.
Founded in 2019 by neurodivergent CEO Cathy Wassell after her daughter’s late autism diagnosis, AGN is the only UK charity specifically supporting autistic females. With autistic women four times more likely to attempt suicide than autistic men, AGN fills a critical gap in male-centric autism provision. Their services include peer support groups, mentoring, and training, but demand has created long waiting lists.
The Fore’s investment will allow AGN to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator to fully mobilise their volunteers, enabling them to grow sustainable income streams and scale to support over 21,000 more autistic girls and women by 2026.
