Archway Foundation Request (Applicant)

Organisation Description

We are a pioneering Oxfordshire based loneliness charity which has been in existence for 43 years. We provide a range of volunteer delivered services overseen by a small staff team. These services create connections which alleviate the hurt of chronic loneliness. These services include 1:1 support, groups and social events. Currently, we work directly with 140 people at any one time, reach 2,000 people per year via our website, have 8 staff and 80 volunteers. We are keen to develop self-help and peer-support aspects of service delivery and we want to reach out more to younger people, people from deprived wards and people from an ethnic minority/global majority group. We have been given the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Further information can be found here: https://www.archwayfoundation.org.uk/

What are they looking for?

We are looking for a Trustee with significant fundraising experience in order to help us to develop and monitor a Fundraising and Communications strategy in partnership with the CEO and other Trustees. We want to diversify our income streams, improve our success rate with Trusts and Foundations, ensure excellent donor relationships, and consider corporate fundraising and other forms of income generation. The funding environment is particularly challenging at the moment, so we would like Archway to be in the best position it can be to sustainably achieve success in this area. We are looking to develop a new Income Generation group within the Board structure to achieve this. This group is likely to meet bi-monthly online for 1.5 hours. In addition to this we have bi-monthly Board meetings. Two of these Board meetings per year take place in person in Oxfordshire. These meetings are each part of a strategy morning in which we consider strategy and risks.
