Organisation Description

Through its paid core staff structure, it provides guidance, support, training, and opportunities to a growing number of dedicated volunteers who provide a valuable and respected service, aiming to improve the life chances of vulnerable children, young people, and their families. supporting parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their local links. Volunteers complete a bespoke training course,support families to build their self-esteem, resilience and confidence through a variety of interventions
We do not work in isolation and as such are fully embedded within our local partnership approach. We are not only a key voice for families but also act as an advocate for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Wakefield.

What are they looking for?

This support would enable us to focus on business development aspect of the service. explore development of a trading arm to the charity to provide some unrestricted funds which can be invested into the charity to develop and sustain it the Service Manager will work with and draw on the experience of the advocate and trustee board to develop and implement a five-year strategic plan, develop a business plan and be involved in more of the strategic networking to embed our service in the local offer. This would increase the resilience of the service and leave us in a stronger position to look at income generation, tendering /procurements, securing continuing funding from local authority partners, and attracting more grant and foundation funding into the district. Therefore, sustaining the longevity of the service.
