Sound Waves Foundation Request (Portfolio)
Organisation Description
Established in 2022 by mothers of deaf children, Sound Waves are reframing deafness as deafability rather than disability so deaf young people can flourish in life and education. Their Actions For Captions project assists schools to leverage technological advancements like live captioning to make education more accessible, while their after-school clubs break down stigma by teaching hearing and deaf children together.
What are they looking for?
Sound Waves Foundation run British Sign Language (BSL) after school clubs. They have created an engaging and fun programme for deaf and hearing primary school children to learn BSL. The classes raise deaf awareness and promote communication skills in mainstream primary schools. "The games were fun and it made learning signing really easy" - student.
They are trying to work out pricing and the strategic rollout of their BSL club content and need some advice from someone ideally with commercial or retail business development experience (particularly in the training realm) to guide them through things to make it a success.
