Art History Link-Up Request

Organisation Description

Art History Link-Up (AHLU) provides free art history courses to under-represented students, providing life-changing opportunities for those who study with us while transforming the future of the arts in the UK. ince 2016, Art History Link-Up has been providing opportunities for young people in state supported education to study art history without charge in their free time. We foster a community of art history lovers by offering the very best teaching. We work in partnership with significant collections such as the Courtauld Institute, the National Gallery and Waddesdon Manor. No other charity is doing this work. We are
seeking a Chair with the relevant experience
and determination who will relish the
challenge of making our mission of ‘Art
History for everyone’ a reality.

What are they looking for?

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a range of professional skills and personal qualities. They will share our determination to make the study and
enjoyment of Art History accessible to as many young people as possible. The Chair would be expected to lead c.four Board meetings a year online and/or in central London. Additional time will be required to prepare/study papers and to be available for providing advice and/or approvals by email in between meetings. It is anticipated that the Chair will work closely with the Chief
Executive on strategic matters. The support will mostly be remote, with hybrid board meetings taking place in Central London, several times a year. A term of three years will be offered in accordance with our governing document. Expenses are not usually paid, unless agreed in advance.
