SUMMARY:At the Forefront : Grow Cardiff and the Brilliance of Social Prescribing
DESCRIPTION:Isla Horton (Grow Cardiff) in conversation with Mary Rose Gunn (The Fore). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a lunchtime session to learn about our recently funded charity\, Grow Cardiff – a grassroots organisation making a lasting difference by and for local people\, through community gardening. Our CEO\, Mary Rose Gunn\, will interview Isla Horton\, Founder and Youth and Community Worker by training. \n\n\n\nHaving attracted volunteers from all over Cardiff\, the charity has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2015. Their “Grow Well” programme is a partnership with ten GP surgeries who have developed social prescribing for therapeutic gardens. The impact has been so great that there is strong demand from the NHS to expand their services throughout Wales. \n\n\n\nThe Fore recently awarded Grow Cardiff £30\,000 in unrestricted funding and support. This is to fund more senior staff to dedicate the time and attention to Grow Cardiff that it deserves. They’ll also be able to launch their Inspire to Grow teacher training programme.

SUMMARY:Question Time with The Fore
DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss this opportunity to hear more from The Fore team and pose your own questions before you apply to our next funding round. \n\n\n\nThe Fore intends to be a funder that genuinely supports the needs of small charities. We want to break down barriers and fund charities that have found it hard to access trust and foundation funding in the past. \n\n\n\nWe see applicants as experts in their own fields. We also know that many of the best people who run small charities don’t have lots of fundraising experience. Our approach is designed to level the playing field. \n\n\n\nAs our next funding round opens\, we’re hosting an online Q&A. Our Chief Executive\, Mary Rose Gunn\, and Poonam Sakarsudha will be discussing our processes and answering your questions. Poonam is one of our Strategic Applicant Consultants\, who help our charities write their applications and present a case to funding panels on their behalf.

SUMMARY:Ask us your questions! Q&A with The Fore
DESCRIPTION:The Fore intends to be a funder that genuinely supports the needs of small charities. We want to break down barriers and fund charities that have found it hard to access trust and foundation funding in the past. \n\n\n\nWe heard the problems many small charities were experiencing with our processes so we’re trialling some changes to how we operate – registration for our summer 2023 funding round will now be open for a week from 11th April at 12pm. \n\n\n\nBut is this enough? Are we any closer to offering what the sector really needs? In a candid online Q&A\, our Chief Executive\, Mary Rose Gunn\, will be challenged by small charity devotee Vic Hancock Fell. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear more from The Fore team and pose your own questions before you apply. \n\n\n\nYou can submit questions in advance using the link here.

SUMMARY:Major Donor Giving
DESCRIPTION:Cultivating private sources of income can bring numerous benefits to your organisation. Major Individual Donor philanthropy (aka High Net Worth Donors) can increase unrestricted revenue\, build awareness and profile and provide support to your organisation for many years. Drawing on our own experiences as nonprofit leaders working with these kinds of donors in the UK and US\, we’ll explore their benefits and potential pitfalls. \n\n\n\nWhat you will learn \n\n\n\n* donor cultivation and stewardship \n\n\n\n* preparing for your major donor meeting \n\n\n\n* making the ask \n\n\n\n* donor and partnership management (with case studies from our own work as nonprofit leaders in the US and UK) \n\n\n\n* creating and managing development/ philanthropic board \n\n\n\n* designing and running donor events \n\n\n\n* Please note that each workshop session is limited to 15 participants in total. If places sell out we will schedule further dates if there is enough demand.
